Artisan Iii (Sheet Metal)

For appointment to this grade, the candidate must have: -
(i) Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade D+ or its equivalent from a recognized institution; and
(ii) Artisan National Trade Test Certificate Grade III/apprentice Certificate awarded by the National Industrial Training Authority or its equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized institution.
Responsibilities

This is the entry and training grade for this cadre and the officer will work under the supervision and guidance of a senior officer. Duties entails:
(i) Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal products and equipment, such as ducts, control boxes, drainpipes, and furnace casings.
(ii) Work may involve any of the following: setting up and operating fabricating machines to cut, bend, and straighten sheet metal;
(iii) Shaping metal over anvils, blocks, or forms using hammer;
(iv) Operating soldering and welding equipment to join sheet metal parts;
(v) Inspecting, assembling, and smoothing seams and joints of burred surfaces;
(vi) Install prefabricated sheet metal ducts used for heating, air conditioning, or other purposes.
