Currently, we are providing care to over 70,000 patients every month through more than 75 state of the art clinics spread out in Kenya. We are looking for qualified, driven and result oriented individuals in respective fields alongside mandatory registration and licenses for the following position based all over the country.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• As a member of the management team, contribute to and implement the organization’s strategy and, by working collaboratively and effectively, to the Hospice’s strategic objectives and business plan.
• Support and lead organizational reform to meet current and future aims by being an effective agent of change.
• Be responsible for and lead the formulation and monitoring of annual nursing workforce development plans, ensuring integration with the business planning cycle, and the optimal deployment of the nursing workforce.
• Be accountable for the management, development, quality assurance and cost effectiveness of all nursing services.
• Promote effective integration across all services and contribute proactively to organization-wide, dynamic team engagement.
• Ensure business requirements are met, e.g. commissioned activity, performance management, business planning etc.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable Acts. (Regulated Activities).
• Contribute to the organizational financial and budget setting process balancing the need to invest in resources whilst ensuring long-term sustainability.
• Develop and establish relationships with nursing leads in other health providers and network effectively with other aligned organizations.
• Provide inspiring and effective nurse leadership to drive continuous improvement in line with strategic priorities and act as a role model for nursing, promoting and demonstrating the standards of care and behaviors expected.
• Determine and implement the correct nursing skill mix required to ensure safe, caring, responsive, effective and well-led care.
• Ensure the delivery of all aspects of nursing care based on knowledge, experience and research, in order to maintain and raise standards of care. Promote evidence-based practice and quality standards.
• Analyze, monitor and evaluate standards of care and facilitate remedial action when necessary.
• Provide a visible, accessible and authoritative presence, establishing innovative and professional leadership which inspires, motivates and empowers nurses.
• Develop and promote professionalism and forge relationships with other health care professionals and non-clinical staff, in order to improve the patient experience.
• Maintain an effective communication network to ensure staff have the information and support they require to provide high quality care for all patients and their families.
• Work collaboratively with various bodies to ensure regulatory standards are met and ensure all services meet the required regulatory and quality standards.
• Actively lead practices to ensure feedback is used to embed a continuous learning ethos where complaints, errors and successes inform improvements; identifying where additional education and training can help.
• As a member of the Health and Safety Committee, ensure there are comprehensive written risk management policies and procedures in place, understood and effectively implemented.
• Create an open and transparent culture where incident and near miss reporting is encouraged in order to inform continuous learning.
• Establish a clinical data strategy to ensure that systems and processes are in place for effective clinical data collection and analysis.
• Actively promote an effective learning environment where nurses evaluate and deliver care based on evidence and best practice.
• Provide effective and supportive line management to direct reports, addressing issues of concern in a timely manner whilst demonstrating and influencing good management practices.
• Promote inter-professional communication and collaborative working within the department Participate in on-call duty rotas providing advice and support to other staff.
• Support the training Department in ensuring all statutory and core training is undertaken and other training and development is achieved as planned.
Education, Skills & Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or Equivalent and a Valid RN license
• 12+ years’ nursing and Quality supervisory experience
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with a team
• Proven experience as director of nursing
• In-depth knowledge of hospital procedures and KPI/KQIs of patient care
• Understanding of basic budgeting and financial reporting
• Great knowledge of legal regulations and best practices in healthcare
• Willingness to keep abreast of changing standards in nursing administration
• Excellent ability to lead and develop personnel
• Great communication and people skills
• Outstanding organizational and stress management skills
