AMI is a leading provider of medical and specialized healthcare services, providing clients with sustainable health and medical solutions. AMI is seeking a Physician Epidemiologist to support the United Nations Mission to Somalia (UNSOS). You will be responsible for advising the local UNSOS leadership on all disease and outbreak matters during the COVID-19 pandemic. You will serve as the focal point for all outbreak information coming in from the field offices around Somalia and East Africa.
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
You will analyze this information, deliver briefs to senior leadership on trends, problems, and solutions. You will also be responsible as tasked for overseeing the implementation of many of those solutions.
Supervise professional, technical and clerical personnel.
Educating and training the community and healthcare workers to prevent the transmission of infectious diseases.
Investigate, provide intervention, and enhance the preparedness capabilities for selected epidemic communicable diseases, notifiable conditions and any related conditions/illnesses of public health significance.
Performs other duties as assigned, including special tasks related to responding to an emergency event
Responsibilities
MD or national equivalent degree, a Master’s in public health (MPH) or equivalent is a plus
Proven public health training and experience
Proven experience as a field or academic epidemiologist
Healthy and able to work in challenging environments
Ready immediately for deployment
Valid Passport.
Registration certificate.
Valid practice license.
