The Assistant Director will work closely with the CEO to implement FSD Africa's new 5-year strategy, fostering synergy across the organization. Acting as a thought partner, the role involves coordinating efforts with FCDO, management, and external stakeholders, leveraging internal expertise to meet strategic objectives.
The Assistant Director will oversee tracking of results, risks, and budgets, lead special projects, and drive cross-pillar collaboration. They will support partnerships, particularly in climate finance, and contribute to fundraising and feasibility assessments of new projects. Key tasks include refining working processes, enhancing strategic alignment, and fostering key relationships, especially with FCDO. Governance responsibilities include improving information flow between the Board, Committees, and senior management, ensuring effective preparation and follow-up for meetings. The Assistant Director will uphold FSD Africa's values of change, collaboration, and professional standards, promoting a culture of inclusivity, innovation, and engagement.
Qualifications and Education
Master's degree and 11 years of experience or bachelor's degree and 12 years of experience
Postgraduate qualification equivalent senior professional experience preferred
Qualified Project Management certification desirable
Excellent written and spoken English
