Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:
Receive and document patients at hospital reception;
Register booking appointment for patients to clinics and consultants;
Store and retrieve medical records documents;
Prepare clinics;
Update bed bureau;
Edit patient case records;
Gather data from different sources;
Capture data from service pints;
Maintain record safety and confidentiality;
Store and retrieve patient master index;
Direct patients to relevant clinics;
Schedule of patients to the consultants and specialty clinics;
Assign codes to diseases and surgical procedures according to the international classification of diseases procedures in medicine;
Prepare health records and reports; and
Any other duty assigned.

Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: -
Diploma in Health Records and Information Technology from a recognized institution; and
Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
