They seek to hire a Compliance Officer who will be responsible for ensuring that the financial institution operates in full compliance with applicable regulations, particularly in the areas of Anti-Money
Laundering (AML), loan administration, and funds disbursement. This role involves developing and implementing internal controls, monitoring compliance with AML laws, and ensuring that all transactions are conducted transparently and ethically.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance
Interpret and apply regulatory requirements, with a focus on AML/CFT (Combating the Financing of Terrorism) laws.
Serve as the institution's primary contact for regulatory bodies regarding compliance matters.
Ensure adherence to local and international financial regulations, including Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements.
Internal Controls for Loan Administration and Funds Disbursement
Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls specific to loan processing, approval, and disbursement procedures.
Conduct regular audits of loan administration workflows to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
Verify that loan and fund disbursement processes are conducted transparently and free from fraud or financial misconduct.
Maintain accurate records of loan transactions and monitor for compliance risks.
AML Compliance
Design and oversee the implementation of AML policies and procedures.
Monitor and report suspicious transactions in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Conduct ongoing customer due diligence (CDD) and enhanced due diligence (EDD) for high-risk clients.
Stay updated on AML laws and implement necessary changes to the institution's compliance framework.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation
Conduct risk assessments related to loan administration, funds disbursement and AML compliance.
Recommend and implement measures to mitigate identified compliance risks.
Monitor compliance metrics and prepare detailed risk management reports for senior leadership.
Training and Capacity Building
Develop and deliver regular training sessions for employees on AML laws, internal controls, and regulatory updates.
Foster a culture of compliance and ethical behavior across the institution.
Reporting and Investigations
Prepare monthly compliance reports for management, regulators, and other stakeholders.
Investigate and document non-compliance incidents, including breaches of AML laws or internal controls.
Ensure timely filing of Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) and other required regulatory filings.
Required Specifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Risk, Law, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree or specialized compliance certification is an advantage.
Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), Certified Compliance Professional (CCP), Certified Information System Auditor (CISA) or equivalent.
Minimum 3-5 years in a compliance or regulatory role within the financial sector.
Strong experience with loan administration, funds disbursement, and AML compliance.
