About the Role
We are looking for a Finance and Admin Lead to join our team in Nairobi. This role is critical to ensuring the smooth financial and operational functioning of Emerging Leaders Kenya. As part of our leadership team, you will work closely with the CEO and Board to set and achieve strategic financial goals while overseeing day-to-day operations, financial management, and administration.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape our financial strategy, ensure compliance with donor and statutory requirements, and lead initiatives that improve our processes and systems. You will also play a key role in overseeing payroll, employee benefits, and vendor relations, making sure our team has the support needed to focus on delivering impact.
Key Responsibilities
Cashflow Management: Oversee cash availability, manage 12-month rolling forecasts, and ensure accurate tracking of all income streams.
Financial Reporting: Prepare timely financial reports for management, the Board, and stakeholders. Manage budget oversight and ensure compliance with grant and contract terms.
Operational Excellence: Lead efforts to refine administrative processes, collaborate with program teams to ensure financial and operational systems support program delivery, and promote efficiency across departments.
Human Resource & Payroll Management: Ensure timely payment of salaries, taxes, and employee benefits while maintaining compliance with HR policies and local regulations.
Compliance & Audits: Lead the annual audit process and ensure financial operations comply with donor and statutory regulations.
Fundraising & Grant Management: Provide financial oversight in grant applications and cultivate relationships with donors to diversify funding sources.

Qualifications
We are seeking a candidate with the following:
Minimum CPA/ACCA II qualification or equivalent.
Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in financial management and operations, preferably within the NGO sector.
Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Excel, and financial reporting software.
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to manage complex financial and operational tasks.
Proven ability to oversee HR functions, manage payroll systems, and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
Experience in budget oversight, audits, and grant management.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with small medium-sized NGOs and a strong understanding of the unique challenges faced by such organizations.
Familiarity with programs focused on leadership, community development, or poverty alleviation.
