As the Finance Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable, handling payroll, overseeing inventory management, and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. Your responsibilities will also include generating financial reports, resolving discrepancies, managing petty cash, and collaborating with various departments to ensure smooth workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain a comprehensive filing system for receipts and other financial documents, ensuring they are properly organized and easily accessible.
Handle accounts payable processes, including accurate recording and processing of invoices, payments, and expense reports.
Manage and prepare payroll, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in processing employee salaries, deductions, and benefits.
Enter receipts and other accounting documents into the system accurately, maintaining up-to-date financial records.
Oversee inventory management, including reconciling stock levels, verifying the accuracy of the point of sale (POS) data against supplier invoices, and addressing any discrepancies.
File monthly statutory reports and returns, such as VAT, PAYEE, NITA, NHIF, and NSSF, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Prepare monthly and annual financial reports for the purpose of conducting audits and providing management with accurate and timely financial information.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies in monthly accounts, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
Handle office petty cash, maintaining appropriate documentation, reconciling balances, and ensuring compliance with internal control procedures.
Coordinate with the Sales Department to ensure the smooth delivery of products, accurately tracking sales transactions and providing necessary financial information.
Stay updated on financial regulations, accounting best practices, and industry trends to ensure compliance and make recommendations for process improvements.
Coordinate with department heads and senior management to develop annual budgets.
Gather relevant financial data and historical information to create accurate budget projections.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA) are preferred.
Proven work experience as a Finance Officer or similar role, preferably in a retail or manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial practices, and statutory regulations.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry, documentation, and analysis.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
Proficiency in using accounting software, such as Odoo, and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and exercise discretion in dealing with sensitive financial matters.
