Project Overview and Role:
The Kenya Feed the Future Private Sector Activity (KPSA) is a $48 million, USAID-funded, Palladium implemented project that will accelerate inclusive economic growth in Kenya through partnerships with large agricultural firms, health firms and other sectors. Using a systems approach, KPSA will provide a suite of customized, high-impact services that increase the productivity of firms such as SMEs, smallholders, Business Advisory Service Providers (BASPs) and Financial Institutions (FIs), increase market linkages, and mobilize finance to support targeted sectors. From 2024 – 2029, KPSA will use its Inclusive Growth Platform to mobilize $400 million in finance, create new jobs, increase exports and sales, and increase access to healthcare services
The Project Driver will provide logistical and administrative support by ensuring all office staff and other authorized persons are driven safely to meetings, workshops, and other work-related destinations; and that the vehicle under his charge is maintained in an optimal working condition.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Drive Project staff, consultants and other visitors on Project business. Provide transportation to and from the airport, hotel, Project sites, and other locations as assigned. Have vehicle ready and on standby at all times.
Responsible for the respect all traffic rules according to the country's regulation.
Ensure all passengers including the driver himself wear a seatbelt.
Be aware of security at each point of drop off or pick up and keep staff safe during journeys.
Record and maintain record of trips including kilometers travelled, fuel consumed and cost, and dates of oil changes, all according to established procedure.
Ensure day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle such as checking oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, etc.
Collect and deliver mail, packages and equipment, as assigned; and maintain records of all deliveries and distributions.
Perform minor repairs on vehicle, obtain price quotes for purchase of parts from prequalified vendors, and arranges for repairs and regular maintenance of the vehicle.
Ensure all regulations are followed in case of accidents, including reporting incidents to Palladium Group and proper authorities and submit required paperwork.
Ensure vehicle has all required registrations / licensing and inspections, and that necessary documentation including vehicle insurance are retained with the vehicle.
Ensure vehicle has sufficient amount of fuel and is kept in clean and good running condition at all times.
Ensure security for daily use and proper evening and weekend storage at office site.
Ensure availability of all tools and safety equipment such as first aid kit, spare tire and repair equipment.
Develop and maintain good working relationships with all Project personnel.
Perform any other related duties assigned or request by the Director of Finance and Administration.

Position Requirements:
Proven experience as a Driver
A valid driver's license
A clean driving record
Minimum visual acuity of 20/50 (or corrected to 20/50)
Familiarity with GPS devices
Knowledge of area roads and neighborhoods
Ability to lift heavy packages and luggage
Availability to occasionally take weekend and night shifts
A polite and professional disposition
Ability to remain calm in stressful driving situations (e.g. at rush hour)
A high school certificate
Certificate of Good Conduct
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel & Word)
