Sector Head – Ecosystem Financing At Equity Bank Kenya

Job Purpose:
The core function shall be to facilitate management of the Ecosystem Financing facilities accessed via the Bank's Digital Channels. The job holder will report to the Group Head of Borrow Products on all functions of Relationship Management, product development, execution, Go-to-Market strategy, facility monitoring, and any other duties assigned to him/her.
The job holder will be the commercial and technical product lead for Ecosystem lending targeting all the customer segment in the value chain. This will entail envisioning, design, implementation and commercialisation of re-imagined digital first lending products and processes targeted at the business and corporate segments. The engagement with external partners with the intent of managing a high-quality portfolio is a key focus for the role.
These will be delivered through a digital channel experience with sole objective of business growth in assets, liability and Non funded Income. The role entail working with cross functional team overlaying an ecosystem approach to identify, target Industry segments, roll-out the specialization plan, develop MIS and capabilities to move SME strategy towards growth in this segment. You will maintain a product backlog, develop user stories, participate in scrum ceremonies, product testing, end user training and developing go to market strategies for new or revamped lending products.
Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Directs product formulation and implementation for the Digital Lending Credit Portfolio within the Bank for specific Anchors & value chains across the group.
Source and develop high quality & innovative digital lending products after assessing market potential, client needs and competitive product range, to achieve revenue growth and increase market share
Business partnership lead: identify potential business partners, author and implement business case with objective of growth in the particular segment.
Quality portfolio management: Support/manage the digital book and ensure the digital lending recoveries are within acceptable threshold
Drive execution. Collaborate with other data science team, MIS, product owners, design, and engineering to bring your ideas to market through rapid iteration
Management reports: generate insights on the existing/potential book that guide decision-making
Grow number of customers through digital acquisition/retention and utilisation to increase the unit's product revenue, volume and market share in target markets/segments.
Carryout sales activities for allocated portfolio, including implementation of Business, Marketing and Promotional Strategies for all Channels and Digital Banking products and solutions.
Articulate strategy and translate product strategy into detailed requirements, user stories, and prototypes
Manage Enhancements and innovations in the digital platform including digital marketing and promotion
Design and implement the product go to market strategies
Recommend changes to Customer Limits, processes or product offerings to ensure that the bank continues to offer Digital loan products efficiently for purposes of a quality loan book.
Training and cascading of the best practices in portfolio management of the Digital Lending Facilities.
Working with the Risk Team, Commercial Leads, Identify and escalate potential risks and issues to senior management through appropriate governance channels and the Quality Assurance framework.
Ensure appropriate Product governance measures are in place so that product approval documents reflect all relevant requirements.

Requirements:
University degree or equivalent with a minimum of 3 years' experience in credit department.
At least 5 years' managerial experience in commercial/consumer financial services.
A Master's degree and professional qualifications will be added advantage.
Demonstrated success in balance sheet growth and customer acquisition in Fintech/Start Up/Telco/FMCG experience is desired
Proven ability to drive an ecosystem model of business and effectively communicate recommendations to senior management, customers, vendors, partners and sales teams.
Proven track record in formulation and execution of sales strategy that resulted in business growth
Good negotiation and communication skills.
Knowledge of basic computing skills
Able to operate in a high-performance driven organizatio
