Main DutiesMonitoring standards of nursing care and other support services to ensure delivery of quality patient careDeveloping and implementing unit budget and ensuring operations are within the budgetAddressing issues and concerns within the section to ensure both internal and external customer satisfactionSubmitting monthly activity reports to the managementUpdating staff on health and safety requirements to ensure a safe environment and compliance with the statutory requirementsLiaising with various experts, consultants and section heads to achieve departmental and institutional goalsEnsuring adequate supply and proper management of staff, consumables and assets to maximize efficiency and cost controlsEnsuring effective infection control measuresIn liaison with the Security Manager ensuring adequate security at the premises throughout and reporting any incidentsParticipating in quality improvement initiatives within the department and providing reports as requiredStaff management and developmentEnsuring proper induction of new staff for smooth adaptation and correct practiceFostering teamwork among staffLiaising with the Director of Nursing Services, relevant HODs and Head of Human Resources on disciplinary issues, complaints, improvement, performance appraisal and motivationLiaising with the Director of Nursing Services, the CPE, and other relevant HODs and the Head of Human Resources on identified training needs of the Nursing staff and initiating staff development programmePatient careLiaising with the clinical team and other departments on patient careSupervising and guiding nursing staff on effective patient careAny other duty as assignedRequired Qualifications for the PositionDiploma in Kenya Registered Community Health Nurses (KRCHN)Higher National Diploma in Critical Care Nursing (KRCCN) or Accident & Emergency (KRAEN)BSc NursingCertificate in CounsellingComputer ProficiencyRegistered with NCK with a valid practising licenseMinimum experience of 5 years in Nursing
