We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Analyst to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing, verifying, and reconciling supplier invoices and payments while adhering to Tamarind's accounting guidelines and maintaining accurate financial records. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Process Invoices:Analyze invoice and expense reports to accurately charge expenses to relevant accounts and cost centers, following accounting guidelines.
Supplier Payments:Verify approval on all invoices, schedule and prepare checks, and ensure timely payments to suppliers in line with company policies.
Invoice Booking:Book invoices from Material Control (MC) into the back-office system, and post them in the SUN system to the appropriate creditors' accounts.
Reconciliation:Perform daily account reconciliations, verifying system reports against balances and ensuring that all entries comply with company guidelines.
Cheques Preparation:Write cheques after approval, ensuring that account reconciliations are attached before final authorization.
Supplier Reconciliation:Reconcile supplier accounts by verifying monthly statements and addressing any discrepancies promptly.
VAT Calculation:Calculate VAT payable before the 15th of every month, ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
Skills and Abilities:
Excellent mathematical and analytical skills, with the ability to work with large datasets and maintain accuracy.
Proficient in computer software, including MS Office (Excel and Word), SUN System, and Material Control (MC).
Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Customer service-oriented mindset with a positive and proactive attitude towards problem-solving.
Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with other teams in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
A university degree in Finance or Accounting.
CPA Level 2 qualification (or equivalent), with a solid understanding of accounting principles.
Prior experience with accounting systems such as SUN System and Material Control is an advantage.
