Assistant Technician - Electronics At Tangaza University College

Position Summary:The assistant technician will be expected to provide technical support in maintaining, repairing and troubleshooting electronic equipment and systems used in the University.Key duties and responsibilities (A detail Job Description will be issued on appointment)Repair and maintain electronic equipmentPerforms preventive maintenance to all Electronics and Electrical EquipmentPrepares and responds to bookings of LCD projectors, laptops, projection screens, musical instrumentsInstallations of new equipment and offers technical support to all users when need arisesProvides sound equipment in all college activitiesInstall public address system as requiredInstallation and maintaining all lighting and power equipmentFollow all installation and performance of security equipmentAssist in structured cabling and termination both fiber and EthernetFollow-up telephone and intercom system and report as soon as possibleMaintain working spaces and equipment in good order to ensure an appropriate academic and technical working environment.Qualification ad ExperienceDiploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering from a recognized Institution2 years' relevant experience. Experience in an institution of higher learning is an added advantage.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities.Technical Skills; should have strong technical skills in setting up, maintaining and storing equipment as well as demonstrate use of a range of equipment.Strong communication skills; Be able to provide instructions on the use of equipmentAbility to work effectively in a team and both Independently; Work flexibly as needed to provide support for technical services across a faculty.
