The Associate, Database and Application support will be responsible for the administration and maintenance of the Company\'s data, database systems and applications.

Job Responsibilities
Manage business and data systems
Support management of the core Company system, databases and other applications.
Support the Creation, monitoring, and maintenance of production and test databases and applications.
Support the setup and management of backup and resilience strategies for databases, Company\'s core application and other business applications.
Support the automation of regular database and application operation activities.
Support the performance of regular maintenance processes (e.g. daily OS and DB checks, regular performance tuning) in an accurate and timely manner.
Support the establishment of the user needs, monitor user access and ensure security.
Support database and application monitoring, performance enhancement and manage parameters for optimal database and application performance.
Ensure optimal performance for back-end data and front-end systems.
Support the installation and testing of new versions of the database management system (DBMS), core application and other related systems.
Support the implementation of controls, access permissions and privileges to ensure the maintenance of security in line with the organization's Information Technology policies and other policies.
Support the development, management and testing of backup and recovery plans for database systems, Company\'s core application and other applications.
Support capacity planning, and ensure that database and application storage and archiving procedures are functioning correctly for optimal performance and uptime.
Communicate regularly with technical and operational staff to ensure database and application integrity and security.
Install new applications and customize existing applications to make them fit for purpose.
Disaster recovery
Participate in the design and implementation of Company Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and Disaster Recovery Plans (DRP) and provide support in the technical sourcing, construction, and implementation of the plans.
Ensure compliance with all internal ICT and business policies and procedures, and with external laws and regulations.
ICT Support
Provide timely end-user support including addressing change requests, amendments, deletions and additions, queries, etc.
Respond to support requests and ensure service levels are maintained
Assist with the design, implementation, and maintenance of database services and infrastructure to support Company\'s client deliveries and internal services.
Qualifications and Requirements
At least a bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or Mathematics.
At least 2 years experience in database administration and application support.
Experience in Database Administration, Database Tuning, Database Management, and Database Security for various RDBMSs (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MSSQL, MySQL etc.) as well as proficiency in SQL (Structured Query Language).
Possession of relevant professional certifications in Database Administration (Oracle, Microsoft SQL, PostgreSQL etc).
Knowledge of PC/LAN operating systems, i.e. (Microsoft Windows and Unix). • Good working knowledge of, and confidence in administering Windows and Linux platforms.
