Reporting to the Head of Department - Health Sciences the position holder will be responsible for the following, amongst others:
Minimum Qualification and Experience
PhD/Doctorate in Nursing /Medical-Surgical Nursing/ General Nursing/Pediatric Nursing/Community Health/ Public Health or equivalent degree qualification in a
relevant area from a recognised/ accredited university.
Master of Science in Nursing /Medical-Surgical Nursing/ General Nursing/Pediatric Nursing/Community Health/ Public Health degree or a related area from a recognised/accredited university.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing /Medical-Surgical Nursing/ General Nursing/Pediatric Nursing/Community Health/ Public Health degree or a relevant field from a recognised/accredited University.
At least three years of teaching/research experience at the University level as a Senior Lecturer.
A minimum of forty-eight (48) equivalent publication points as a Senior Lecturer/Senior Research Fellow of which thirty-two (32) should be from refereed journal articles.
Supervised at least four (2) postgraduate students including (1) doctoral student to the completion
Attracted research funds as a Senior Lecturer/Senior Research Fellow
Attended and contributed at academic conferences, seminars and workshops
Evidence of being a member of a relevant professional body
Evidence of leadership (administrative experience, active participation in departmental /school/university/national/international activities).

Duties and Responsibilities of Teaching Faculty
To teach in areas allocated by the Head of Department.
Design, develop, plan and deliver a range of programmes of study, sometimes for entirely new courses at various levels.
Deliver high-quality lectures and practicals.
Oversee clinical practice, providing students with real-world learning experiences and guidelines in hospitals or clinical settings.
Review course content and materials on a regular basis, updating when required.
Collaborate with academic colleagues on course development, curriculum changes and the development of research activities.
Carry out research and write research grant proposals.
Seek and participate in consultancies.
Present research papers at national or international conferences and other similar events.
Dissemination of research outputs.
Provide mentorship and career guidance to students and staff.
Ensure all academic activities align with the standards of the Nursing Council of Kenya
