About the jobExperience and Qualifications3-5 years of experience in legal practice preferably with exposure to energy, infrastructure or project finance.LLB degree with a solid academic transcript.Job Accountabilities:Regulatory and compliance advisory on legal issues covering development and financing of projects, energy and infrastructure.Drafting and reviewing legal documentation, including the vetting of agreements touching on projects, energy and infrastructure (e.g. concession agreements, power purchase agreements, implementation agreements, government letters of support).You will need to be familiar with other project agreements such as construction contracts, O&M agreements, fuel supply agreements etc. ideally covering a range of asset types.Drafting and negotiating other high value commercial contracts, construction contracts as well as undertaking business development opportunities.Acting for a variety of both private and public sector sponsors/developers, funders, contractors and other project participants.Enable complex infrastructure projects to come to fruition.Attending to research, supporting senior associates and partners on transactional matters.Assisting in managing and training junior lawyers and pupils.Project managing matters, including role players in both internal and external project teams.Understanding client commercial drivers and tailoring solutions to meet their needs.Support the team in managing relationships with external stakeholders including government entities, regulatory bodies, and clients.CompetenciesLegal technical and commercial ability:includingLegal technical knowledge, impeccable research and presentation skills, legal drafting, business acumen / commercial sense, project managementTeamworkBusiness Development:including:the ability to build, develop, nurture and leverage internal and external networks;cross-functional collaboration;client engagement; andthe ability to apply and utilise structured business development methodologies.Personal AttributesTakes initiativePerseveranceResults drivenSolutions focusedTeam playerEthicalClient FocusHigh Work StandardsPlanning and organizingComputer LiteracyProficient in Word and OutlookKnowledge of Excel and PowerPoint is an added advantage.
