Our client in Manufacturer of Hygiene and Sanitary items located in Ruiru is looking to fill the position of a Boiler Supervisor who will oversee the operation, maintenance, and safety of all boiler systems in a manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will possess a Mechanical Engineering degree and have extensive experience (7+ years) in boiler operations within a manufacturing environment.
Job Description
Boiler Operation and Maintenance:
Supervise the daily operation of boilers to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
Conduct regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of boiler systems.
Coordinate with the maintenance team to address repairs and minimize downtime.
Team Leadership:
Lead and manage a team of boiler operators and technicians, ensuring adequate training and adherence to safety protocols.
Assign tasks and monitor team performance to achieve departmental goals.
Compliance and Safety:
Ensure all boiler operations comply with regulatory requirements and safety standards.
Maintain detailed logs of boiler performance, maintenance, and repairs for audit and compliance purposes.
Conduct safety drills and ensure the team is equipped to handle emergencies.
Energy Efficiency and Optimization:
Monitor energy usage and implement strategies to improve boiler efficiency and reduce operational costs.
Collaborate with the engineering team to identify opportunities for system upgrades and improvements.
Reporting and Documentation:
Prepare and submit regular reports on boiler performance, maintenance schedules, and team activities.
Maintain accurate records of equipment inventory and parts procurement.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in a manufacturing setting, with experience in the paper industry considered a strong advantage.
In-depth knowledge of boiler systems, operations, and safety protocols.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with maintenance management software is a plus.
