KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Identify and pursue new business opportunities with multilateral & bilateral institutions and other international development organizations.
Lead the preparation and formulation of high-quality technical and financial proposals, ensuring compliance with client requirements and demonstrating a thorough understanding of the project's scope and objectives.
Convey the quality of our approach, team and capability compellingly to donors and clients through writing and delivering clear, accessible and well-structured documents and presentations in English.
Conduct scoping or fact-finding missions to gather critical information and insights necessary for successful project development and proposal formulation.
Develop and implement strategies to secure new projects and partnerships and identify potential members of the proposed team and consortium partners.
Lead recruitment efforts to build a strong and capable team, ensuring the successful implementation of projects.
Leverage strong networks within our clients' consultancy business to support business development and secure new projects.
Negotiate effectively with sub-consultants and partners.
Maintain and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders within our client organisations.
Conduct market research and analysis to stay abreast of industry trends and opportunities.
Collaborate with project teams to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction.
Seek, establish and nurture relationships with client counterparts that are characterized by trust and mutual respect.
Create opportunities and exposure for the development of new business.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (project management, monitoring and evaluation, economics, political science, international development, business administration, etc.) or equivalent experience. A master's degree is preferred.
Minimum Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development in Monitoring & Evaluation within the international development sector.
Proven track record of successfully securing M&E projects.
Strong understanding of either World Bank, AfDB, EU or Nordic donors operational and procurement procedures.
Experience in business development with either World Bank / AfDB / EU considered a strong asset.

Strong proposal writing and management skills.
Strong financial management skills.
Technical expertise in Monitoring and Evaluation in international development programmes is strongly preferred.
