Role Description
This is a full-time Business Development Officer role at ADT Insurance Agency Ltd. located in Nairobi County, Kenya. The Business Development Officer will spearhead ADT's growth by identifying new business opportunities, cultivating and managing relationships with partners and clients, and driving the company's expansion into new or untapped market segments.
This role calls for a strategic, results-oriented professional with in-depth knowledge and understanding of the insurance industry (both locally and globally), in addition to a proven and demonstrable track record of achieving successful business development outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Market Analysis and Expansion:Undertake in-depth market segmentation and competitor analysis in order to identify, evaluate and pursue new business opportunities in line with ADT's strategic objectives.
Strategic Business Development:Develop and execute innovative business development strategies to drive revenue growth, increase client retention and achieve sales targets.
Client Relationship Management:Engage with prospective and existing clients to understand their needs and tailor insurance offerings that align with their specific business requirements, while maintaining a customer-centric approach to enhance client satisfaction and customer service excellence.
Business Retention and Growth:Proactively manage policy renewals by ensuring smooth policy transitions, and identifying opportunities to expand existing accounts by offering complementary insurance products or enhancing their current policies.
Risk Analysis and Quotation Development:Collaborate with underwriting and risk management teams to evaluate the risks associated with new clients and business opportunities, and develop customized insurance quotations based on the specific risk profile and needs of the client.
Market Trends and Customer Insights:Proactively research and monitor industry trends, customer needs and competitor activities to identify gaps and opportunities for product development and expansion into new sectors.
Marketing Strategies/Research:Collaboratively research, develop and implement innovative marketing strategies aligned with ADT's growth objectives.
Marketing Collateral:Collaboratively design and update marketing collateral that resonates with the target audiences, and effectively supports the ongoing business development activities.
Digital Marketing:Collaboratively implement and manage digital marketing strategies, including but not limited to SEO, SEM, pay-per-click (PPC) advertising, email and social media marketing to attract and convert leads into clients.
Advertising Campaigns:Design and execute impactful advertising campaigns across various media, ensuring that it aligns with business goals, reaches the target audience and drives measurable results
Performance Monitoring:Analyze, track and optimize the performance of marketing initiatives, sales efforts and overall business development activities, in addition to providing regular performance reports to management, offering insights into successes, areas of improvement and potential new opportunities for growth.
Stakeholder Relationships:Act as a liaison to foster and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders maintain connections with internal and external partners, ensuring that all parties are aligned and working toward common business objectives
Requirements
Education:Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree or certifications are a plus.
Experience:Proven experience in market analysis, business development and client relationship management. Experience in the insurance industry is preferred.
Skills:
Strong analytical and research skills for market analysis and risk assessment.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for client management and collaboration.
Proficiency in digital marketing, including SEO, SEM, email campaigns and social media management.
Knowledge of industry trends and emerging technologies.
Technical Proficiency:
Familiarity with marketing software and tools (e.g. CRM systems, marketing automation platforms).
Competence in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and data analysis tools.
