The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring operational continuity and accuracy by maintaining electromechanical systems and supporting essential weighbridge functions. Requirements
Educational Background:Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical & Communications Engineering, Bachelor of Technology (Electronics & Systems), Bachelor of Technology (Instrumentation & Control), Information Technology, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering from a recognized institution.
Experience:Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as a Technician, ideally within weights and measurements activities.
Technical Certification:Certificate of Competence from the Weights and Measures Department to repair Type 3 electronic weighing equipment.
Integrity and Compliance:Must provide a current certificate of good conduct and meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
Licensing:Valid Annual Practicing License from a recognized professional body.
Technical Proficiency:Proficiency in computer applications, with strong troubleshooting and networking skills.
Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance:Conduct routine maintenance on weighbridge equipment to ensure business continuity.
Troubleshooting:Provide remote troubleshooting for hardware and software issues, resolving technical problems to minimize operational disruptions.
System Installation & Upgrades:Install, upgrade, and monitor weighing systems to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Calibration Support:Assist with the calibration of weighbridge equipment in accordance with regulatory standards.
Networking of Systems:Establish and maintain network connections for electromechanical hardware, software, and server systems to ensure seamless operation.
