COMPANY : TOP FMCG TITLE : Chief Executive Officer (CEO) LOCATION: Nairobi, Kenya REPORTS TO : Board of Directors OVERVIEW: Our client, a prominent conglomerate in the FMCG secto r, is seeking a visionary and strategic Chief Executive Officer (CEO ) to lead the organization towards sustained growth and innovation.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in senior leadership roles within the FMCG industry, with a proven ability to manage large-scale business entities.
Experience in the African market, particularly in Kenya, is essential.
RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.Strategic Leadership: Formulate and implement comprehensive business strategies to achieve the company's mission and long-term objectives.
Provide strategic direction and oversight across all functions of the organization, ensuring alignment with the company's goals.
Drive the company's vision and values to build a robust corporate culture.
2.Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities to drive growth and expand market share.
Establish strategic partnerships and alliances to enhance the company's competitive position.
Lead initiatives for market expansion and entry into new geographic regions within Africa.
3.Financial Management: Oversee the company's financial performance, ensuring sound financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
Implement robust financial controls and procedures to ensure fiscal responsibility.
Optimize financial performance by driving revenue growth and managing costs effectively.
4.Operational Excellence: Ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness across all business units.
Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and quality.
Oversee the supply chain and logistics to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products.
5.Leadership and Team Development: Cultivate a high-performance culture by fostering an environment of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
Develop and mentor the senior leadership team, enhancing their skills and leadership capabilities.
Implement talent management strategies to attract, develop, and retain top talent.
6.Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, partners, and investors.
Represent the company in industry forums, conferences, and public engagements.
Communicate effectively with the Board of Directors, providing regular updates on business performance and strategic initiatives.
7.Risk Management and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and corporate governance standards.
Identify and mitigate potential risks to the business through effective risk management strategies.
Maintain a strong ethical framework and promote corporate social responsibility.
PRE - REQUISITES: A degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
MBA from a reputable institution is mandatory.
Part / Full finance qualification is an added advantage.
Age : 42 - 47 yrs Experience: At least 15 years + of experience in senior leadership roles within the FMCG / Manufacturing.
Demonstrated success in managing large-scale business entities.
Significant experience in the African market, with a deep understanding of the Kenyan business environment.
Previous experience as a CEO or in a similar executive role is highly desirable.
