Position Summary
The CTO will drive our technological vision and strategy, aligning technology initiatives with our business goals. This individual will lead the development and implementation of systems critical to operations, including our ERP, sales force automation, transport management, and the customer-facing app with an embedded finance product. The CTO will also oversee IT infrastructure, data management, and analytics to ensure secure, reliable, and scalable technology across the organization.
Duties & Responsibilities
Technology Strategy & Leadership
Define and execute the technology roadmap to support business goals and operational needs.
Provide strategic leadership to leverage Acumatica ERP, sales force automation, transport management systems, and upcoming customer-focused applications.
Oversee and manage cloud infrastructure, ensuring the systems are secure, scalable, and optimized for performance.
System Implementation & Optimization
Drive the ongoing implementation of the transport management system, ensuring integration with existing ERP and automation tools.
Oversee the development and launch of a customer-facing mobile app, including the embedded finance product, working closely with cross-functional teams.
Continuously monitor and improve technology operations to maximize efficiency and user satisfaction.
Data Management & Analytics
Lead the design and development of a centralized data warehouse for comprehensive data analysis and business intelligence.
Manage a team of data analysts to drive data-driven decision-making across sales, operations, and customer service.
Ensure data integrity, security, and accessibility, supporting real-time analytics and predictive insights.
IT Infrastructure & Security
Oversee IT infrastructure, ensuring a secure, efficient, and cost-effective environment.
Develop and implement cybersecurity policies, protocols, and disaster recovery plans.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, particularly in relation to data security and privacy.
Team Leadership & Development
Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing technology team, including IT support, software developers, and data analysts.
Foster a collaborative culture with a focus on continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
5-7 years of proven experience in a CTO or similar senior technology leadership role, preferably in FMCG or a distribution-focused organization.
Knowledge of East African markets and regulatory requirements is a plus.
Demonstrated experience with ERP systems (preferably Acumatica), sales automation, transport management, and data warehouse development.
Experience managing cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, and compliance.
Proficiency in app development processes and finance-related technology integration.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on operational efficiency and business growth.
