About IFDC   The International Fertilizer Development Center (IFDC) is a public international organization active in 27 countries in Africa, Asia, and America. With our partners, we seek to close the yield gap, eradicate global hunger, safeguard the soil on which our lives depend, and generate economic resilience for farming households and the countries in which they live.      IFDC East and Southern Africa is actively seeking a passionate individual to join our team as an intern, providing them with valuable learning experience and opportunities for professional development.   Responsibilities   The intern's tasks will  include (but are not limited to):   ·        Social Media Content Development and Monitoring ·        Develop engaging content for specified social media platforms. ·        Monitor analytics and engagement metrics to optimize content strategy. ·        Supporting Communications Team in Writing Articles: Collaborate on various articles for the IFDC website or annual report, including press releases, feature articles, success stories, and profiles. ·        Supporting Communications Team in Designing Infographics and Videos: Utilize graphic design and video editing tools to create visually compelling infographics and videos. ·        Supporting Communications Team in photography: Capturing good quality shots for field activities and events. ·        Editing Various Documents: Edit and refine diverse documents, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established standards. ·        Other Projects as Skilled: Contribute skills in areas such as graphic design or podcasts to additional projects as needed.         Supervision   The Communications Intern will be supervised directly by the Regional Communications Coordinator, East and Southern Africa. Proven ability to maintain a high level of attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in written and visual materials. Required Experience A graduate in Communications and Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Graphic Design and Advertising, English Literature, or a related field. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in writing through previous coursework, published articles, or relevant writing samples. Hands-on experience with organizational social media use and platforms, or working knowledge gained through coursework or personal projects. Demonstrated strong interest in research, backed by relevant coursework or previous research projects.  Proficient editing skills demonstrated through coursework or relevant experiences. Proven ability to maintain a high level of attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in written and visual materials.
