Duties and Responsibilities:
Licensing Management: Oversee the issuance, renewal, and revocation of licenses for alcoholic drinks establishments.
Enforcement of Laws: Ensure compliance with the Alcoholic Drinks Control Act and other relevant laws and regulations.
Inspections and Audits: Conduct routine inspections of licensed premises to ensure adherence to licensing conditions and standards.
Compliance Monitoring: Investigate reports of non-compliance and recommend appropriate action, including penalties or revocation of licenses.
Public Awareness and Education: Provide guidance to stakeholders on the requirements for compliance with alcohol control laws.
Report Preparation: Compile reports on licensing activities, compliance rates, and any enforcement actions taken.
Collaboration: Work closely with law enforcement, public health officials, and local authorities in enforcing alcohol control laws.
Requirements for appointment;
Be a Kenyan Citizen
Bachelor's degree in Law, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
Knowledge of the Alcoholic Drinks Control Act and other relevant Kenyan legislation is an added advantage
Knowledge in regulatory compliance and licensing processes.
Understanding of public health and safety regulations concerning alcohol.
At least 3-5 years of relevant work experience in compliance, regulation, or licensing.
Experience working with government regulatory bodies or in a law enforcement capacity is an advantage.
Previous experience in alcohol control, public health, or related sectors is desirable.
Strong understanding of Kenyan alcoholic drinks regulations.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and ability to enforce regulations fairly and impartially.
Ability to work under pressure and handle sensitive cases with discretion.
