We are seeking a diligentComputer Operator Prosecutionresponsible for overseeing the prosecution process for vehicle overload violations at our weighbridge station. This role is crucial in enforcing axle load compliance by coordinating with law enforcement, managing computerized prosecution systems, and ensuring vehicles adhere to regulatory standards.
Requirements
Educational Background:Minimum Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business & IT, Computer Engineering, or valid International Computer Driving Licence (ICDL) certification.
Experience:Minimum of 3 years in a data processing environment, with hands-on experience as a computer operator or in a similar role.
Regulatory Knowledge:Familiarity with the Traffic Act (CAP 403) of the Laws of Kenya, East African Community Vehicle Control Act, 2016 (EACVLCA), and related regulations.
Integrity and Compliance:Fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution, with a certificate of good conduct.
Technical Proficiency:Proficient in computer applications, including data entry and processing systems, with strong attention to detail.
Responsibilities
Prosecution and Compliance:Manage the prosecution process for impounded vehicles, including overloaded and exempted permit violators, ensuring that necessary fees or fines are paid prior to vehicle release.
Law Enforcement Coordination:Work closely with police to coordinate the prosecution of impounded trucks and vehicles.
System Operation:Operate the computerized prosecution system to process violations and maintain accurate records.
Client Advisory:Guide transporters on load correction and oversee the overload fee payment process.
Records Management:Maintain comprehensive records of all prosecuted vehicles, including static and mobile operations.
Court Proceedings:Represent the weighbridge station in court proceedings when necessary.
Vehicle Immobilization:Ensure prohibited vehicles are clamped to prevent unauthorized movement.
Compliance Certification:Issue compliance certificates to vehicles that meet regulatory standards after correction.
Financial Reconciliation:Reconcile fines paid in court with recommended fines, ensuring transparency and accuracy.
