The Role:
As the Content Developer, you will report directly to the Head of Content, and you will be responsible for creating and curating content in line with our editorial calendars, executing on strategies created to grow our domestic and international audiences, and reinforcing our identity as a premium travel agency and club. Your role involves researching monthly themes and product highlights, writing copy for social media, blog, and email content, and selecting images and videos from our content bank to capture each theme's appeal. When needed, you'll brief our in-house creative team to develop additional assets.
Additionally, you'll focus on building our community of travel enthusiasts by scouting new brands, events, travel partners, and influencers across East Africa, identifying partnership opportunities. As part of community management, you'll manage the social channels making sure you're commenting on other KOLs' profiles, and replying to any one of our followers' comments.
You're a creative thinker, excited by collaboration and staying on top of emerging trends and events. You will love researching and writing about new travel destinations and experiences, have expertise across social media, and email marketing, and have the confidence to interact with external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Curate and research our content themes and ensure engaging, accurate and targeted copy across all channels
Find interesting stories to write about in our Destination Guides
Manage the editorial calendar
Curate the image and video selection for all channels
Keep up-to-date with social media trends, travel and lifestyle news and provide monthly reports and recommendations to the team
Grow our community of contributors and influencers
Research industry insights for LinkedIn
Key Skills:
You will hold a bachelor's degree in marketing or a related field
At least 3 years of experience in the travel/ tourism industry
Experience managing/growing digital communities
Excellent copywriting skills
Excellent organisational and time management skills
An experience of, and love for, travel and tourism in Africa
A positive attitude and collaborative nature
Endless energy and the ability to just get work done
Work in a fast-paced environment
