Duties and Responsibilities
The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) is mandated by the UN General Assembly to promote socially and environmentally sustainable towns and cities. UN-Habitat is the focal point for all urbanization and human settlement matters within the UN system. UN-Habitat works with partners to build inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable cities and communities. UN-Habitat promotes urbanization as a positive transformative force for people and communities, reducing inequality, discrimination and poverty. Under the general guidance of the Director MACS, the Consultant will perform the following functions:
Design and conduct all of the workshop promotion and marketing.
Conduct all of the participant registration.
A prior learning assessment to gather baseline data to customize the training with a baseline survey designed to assess AI interests, needs, strengths, and gaps.
Staff complete a "Personal Standard Operating Manual" to help them navigate AI, a customized tool that assesses their motivation style(s), and technology change personality.
Design a training workshop based on the prior learning assessment and baseline data, including custom learning materials, and learning activities.
Facilitating a 90-minute custom-designed, online, interactive workshop, delivered six times for 10-20 UNHABITAT staff in each workshop.
Participant group learning debrief.
Brief report created with recommendations
Four follow-up, innovative, interactive learning activities to help apply the learning.
Creation and maintenance of a WhatsApp group (or tool of choice) for interested participants to continue the learning.
Online learning resources portal shared with all participants to assist with learning transfer.
Follow-up group calls to support application of learning.
Qualifications/special skills
Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in education, human resource management, or a related field is required.
A first-level university degree in combination with two (2) years of qualifying work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
A minimum of five years of training and facilitation experience is required.
Demonstrated experience in presentation and communication skills is desired.
Demonstrated knowledge of pedagogic and adult learning is desired.
Demonstrated knowledge of and course design in artificial intelligence is desired.
