Data Governance Specialist At Goodinfo

The Data Governance Specialist will ensure the organization's data governance framework is effectively implemented and maintained. This individual will collaborate with data owners, IT teams, and other stakeholders to uphold data governance standards, support data classification efforts, and enhance data protection practices, particularly in alignment with Data Loss Prevention (DLP) initiatives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Policy Adherence:
Ensure data governance policies, procedures, and standards are followed across the organization.
Collaborate with data owners to establish and enforce data stewardship roles and responsibilities.

Data Governance Framework Development:
Develop and implement a robust data governance framework to support data classification and DLP initiatives.
Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with governance practices and regulatory requirements.

Support DLP Initiatives:
Partner with the DLP implementation team to classify sensitive data, identify risks, and support policy development.
Facilitate the integration of data governance practices with DLP systems.

Training and Awareness:
Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on data classification, DLP policies, and governance standards.
Promote awareness of data governance principles and their importance in safeguarding organizational data.

Monitoring and Reporting:
Establish monitoring protocols, alert systems, and incident response workflows.
Monitor the effectiveness of data governance practices and recommend improvements.
Generate reports and insights on data classification, policy adherence, and risk mitigation efforts.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:5+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related field.
Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of data governance frameworks and tools.
Knowledge of data classification practices and Data Leakage Prevention (DLP) technologies. (e.g., Symantec, Forcepoint, Digital Guardian).
Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
Proficiency in developing and delivering training programs.
