Reports to: The Registrar Administration and Human Capital.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Deputize the Registrar (Administration and Human Capital);
Responsible for staff matters in the department;
Responsible for a budget plan for the department;
Responsible for the implementation of university policies and procedures in the division;
Ensure effective and efficient management of various functions of the department;
Formulating and reviewing administrative service policies and procedures;
Spearheading service delivery initiatives;
Overseeing the provision of security and office services;
Directing general maintenance;
Facilitating meetings, conferences, and other special events;
Managing and controlling office accommodation;
Overseeing coordination of disaster management and emergency response activities;
Coordinating preparation of work plans, budgets, and setting of performance targets;
Coordinating implementation of service delivery initiatives;
Planning and coordinating office accommodation;
Processing travel clearance;
Coaching, mentoring, and developing staff; and
Any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.
ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
For appointment to this position, a candidate MUST have:
Master's Degree in Public Administration or Business Administration or Human Resources Management or any other relevant qualification from a recognized institution;
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field from a recognized institution;
Must be registered and in good standing with the Institute of Human Resource; Management Kenya (IHRM) and a Certified Human Resource Practitioner CHRP (K);
Attendance of a senior management or other professional course lasting for more than four weeks will be an added advantage Computer literacy;
Demonstrate outstanding qualities of leadership, coordination and organization at the senior management level; and
Exemplary work performance
EXPERIENCE:
The candidate MUST have had at least six (6) years' experience in administration, three (3) years of which MUST have served as a Senior Assistant Registrar.
