Role Summary
We are seeking a skilled and innovative Digitalization Expert to design, develop, and implement digital solutions that enhance efficiency and traceability in the agricultural supply chain. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in GIS, IoT, cloud computing, and cybersecurity and will collaborate with stakeholders to ensure successful integration and operation of monitoring and tracking systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop monitoring and traceability systems to collect, process, and visualize supply chain data.
Assess and select technologies such as IoT, blockchain, sensors, and geolocation systems for data collection and analysis while coordinating the secure integration of these components.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders is essential to identify digitization opportunities and tailor solutions to meet the agricultural supply chain's specific needs.
Must have knowledge using GIS tools such as ArcGIS or QGIS for data visualization and mapping, as well as automating GIS processes through scripting languages like Python or R.
Provide training and ongoing support to end-users, monitor the system to resolve issues, and propose improvements to enhance efficiency and traceability.
Staying informed on the latest trends in digital technologies and their applications in agriculture is crucial. Regular reporting on system performance and its impact will also be required.

Key Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field is required, along with proven experience in designing and developing monitoring and tracking systems.
Candidates must have proficiency in digital technologies such as IoT, cloud computing, data analytics, and cybersecurity, as well as training in GIS and Remote Sensing in fields like environment, forestry, agriculture, or IT.
Experience with GIS software, such as ArcGIS or QGIS, and scripting languages like Python or R is essential.
Strong teamwork and communication skills are important, as is fluency in English (knowledge of Italian is an added advantage).
Must have a deep understanding of the agricultural sector and its dynamics is highly preferred.
Candidates must be fully available to work in Nairobi, Kenya, and be prepared to pass an interview with our client's competent personnel for confirmation.
