JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the general oversight of all teaching and learning processes that take place on a day-to-day basis in the school. The bearer ensures this is successful by coordinating the overall engagement and welfare of the learners.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
RI. Class management
Maintain a daily informative, educative and promotional communication with the parents/guardians in his/her class through the students' diaries and keep the office of the headteacher abreast with such communication as need may be.
Maintain high standards of discipline, class control and order in his/her classroom and foster a sense of community among the young learners.
Supervise the learners in his/her class at all times including during breaks and meal times to ensure their optimum safety.
Maintaining a conducive learning environment
Handling disciplinary issues
Fostering a positive atmosphere where learners feel engaged and motivated to learn
R2. Curriculum Implementation
Ensure that all assessment reports are recorded in time and that all end term reports are done in time and the development and performance of the students in his/her class is discussed with their respective parents/guardians and a report of the same submitted to the headteacher not later than the following day.
Planning and executing lessons that align with curriculum designs and promotes social, emotional, cognitive and physical development.
Ensure that learners receive a well-rounded education
Assess learners' progress through observation, informal assessments and formal evaluations.
Provide constructive feedback to learners, parents/guardians and other stake holders.
Adapting teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and address the unique strengths and weakness of each learner.
Academic excellence-ensure that all assessments are done, recorded to adhere with the given deadline.
Incorporate modern teaching tools and methodologies to enhance the learning experiences of learners.
R3. Enrolment and Retention
Promote marketing activities and initiatives by the school
Ensure quality service delivery.
Establish strong relationships with both learners and parents/guardians.
Communicate to parents effectively.
Provide personalized learning experiences.
R4. Co-curricular Activities
Organize, participate and supervise the co-curricular activities.
Nurture creativity, social skills, physical development and emotional well-being.
Encourage participation, teamwork and cooperation fostering a sense of belonging and
Assess learners' interests and strengths to tailor the activities that cater to their individual needs.
R5. Discipline
Maintain high standards of discipline of learners at all times
Maintain professional conducts, ethical standards and comply with administrative

Promote social-emotional development by teaching conflict resolution skills.
Foster a positive and supportive learning environment.
R6. Value Based Character Formation
Participate in guidance and counselling activities
Participate in weekly devotion
Participate in spiritual nurture activities
Participate in mentorship programs and activities in the school.
Create a supportive and nurturing environment where learners learn and practice values such as honesty, kindness, empathy, respect, cooperation and responsibility.
Incorporate moral lessons into daily routines and interactions to help reinforce values.
Collaborate with parents to reinforce values at home for holistic development
R7. Other Duties and Responsibilities
Participate in other programs and activities organized by BoH such as medical camps, sports extravaganzas etc.
Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the management from time to time
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
(The knowledge, skills and abilities may be acquired through a combination of formal schooling, self-education and prior experience or on-the-job-training).
Level of Education:
Minimum of an ECDE Diploma and Competence Based Curriculum training.
Bachelor's degree in Education or equivalent will be an added advantage.
Specialized Training/Professional Qualifications:
A Certificate/ Diploma in Leadership, Guidance and Counseling or any other relevant course is an added advantage.

Must have relevant teaching experience in lower primary school.

Job experience
At least two years teaching experience and exposure in a busy school environment.
