Job Summary:
Kenya's leading electrical companies, in collaboration with Don Bosco Technical Training Institute, are implementing an employer-led dual apprenticeship program for the electrical trade. This two-year initiative is designed to equip apprentices with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in the evolving electrical industry.

Don Bosco Technical Training Institute is seeking skilled and experienced electrical professionals passionate about teaching and mentorship. This is afull-time role, and successful candidateswill receive comprehensive pedagogy trainingto equip them with the skills needed to effectively deliver high-quality, hands-on training. As an electrical instructor, you will play a critical role in shaping the next generation of electricians while advancing the future of the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Conduct electrical training in both classroom and workshop settings, using real-world scenarios, simulations, and visual aids to enhance practical skills.
Design comprehensive learning assignments that span the two-year electrical curriculum.
Collaborate with industry experts to update and align the curriculum with current industry standards.
Prepare, conduct, and grade formative assessments and final exams, ensuring examination documents are pre-approved.
Supervise apprentices' projects and practical work, providing constructive feedback to support learning outcomes.
Maintain accurate records of training sessions, including lesson plans, schemes of work, timetables, and apprentices' progress reports.
Prepare assessment reports for each apprentice every semester and ensure all student documentation is current and accurate.
Mentor apprentices by offering professional advice, career guidance, and support throughout the program.
Promote discipline and enforce safety protocols, ensuring apprentices adhere to industry regulations and best practices.
Check and verify apprentices' personal protective equipment.
Ensure order and adherence to waste separation practices in the workshop and classroom.
Organize necessary supplies, tools, and machines per inventory requirements and future needs.
Coordinate with company mentors to keep apprentice logbooks updated and liaise with partner companies as needed.
Collaborate with NITA to ensure assessments meet required standards.
Support budget preparation and management for school and workshop operations, ensuring resources are available as needed.
Participate in school events and support the preparation and implementation of final exams, covering both workshop and classroom aspects.
Stay updated on technical and training developments in the electrical trade through consultation with trade experts.
Carry out additional duties as assigned by the lead trainer or school Principal.

Qualifications and Skills:
A minimum of a Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
A minimum of 5 years of proven, hands-on experience in the electrical field, including expertise in installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems.
Experience working with diverse electrical systems and technologies in industrial, commercial, or residential settings is highly desirable
Excellent communication (written and spoken English) and presentation skills.
Proficiency in using teaching aids and technology to enhance training effectiveness.
Ability to work with individuals from diverse cultural, educational, and religious backgrounds.
A good team player with high initiative, flexibility, and tolerance.
Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.
A recognized certificate in teaching methodology in Technical Education is an added advantage.
Experience working in a dual training setting is an added advantage.

Renumeration and benefits
This is a two-year contract renewable
Salary ranging from Kes 55,000 to 60,000 based on experience
