As Head of Finance, you will oversee the company's financial health, including reporting, forecasting, budgeting, compliance, and system development.
You will provide strategic insights to the leadership team, ensure operational excellence, and support growth initiatives.
What does the job involve Financial Reporting: Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, including consolidated P&Ls, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Performance & Budget Analysis: Lead the development of budgets and conduct monthly analysis of actual spend vs. budget, ensuring departments stay within budget and identify opportunities to reduce cash burn and increase profitability.
Internal Controls & Accuracy: Review and strengthen internal controls to maintain high financial integrity.
Oversee balance sheet reviews to ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance with standards.
Expense Management: Own the operating expenses line of the Profit & Loss statement, ensuring department spending aligns with the budget and financial goals.
Cash Flow & Working Capital: Manage cash flow to maintain optimal liquidity, and champion working capital solutions to support business growth.
Compliance & Tax: Ensure compliance with tax regulations, manage relationships with tax authorities, and lead external audits with tax partners and authorities.
Payroll & Statutory Management: Oversee payroll processes and statutory compliance.
Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, providing training on financial matters to both financial and non-financial staff.
Design and monitor team KPIs to ensure performance is aligned with business goals.
Strategic Planning & Financial Modeling: Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling to align with company growth strategies.
Investor Relations: Support with investor communications, fundraising efforts, and financial reporting for stakeholders.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to align financial strategy with business goals and initiatives.
Qualifications Experience: 4+ years in finance roles, with at least 2 years in leadership, preferably in a fast- paced startup or scale-up environment.
Education: MBA, CPA, CFA, or similar advanced degrees (preferred).
Industry Knowledge: Experience in consumer goods (a plus).
Technical Skills: Expertise in financial reporting, modeling, systems, controls, and budgeting.
