Main Purpose
Implement Health Promotion/IEC (Information, Education, Communication)activities with patients and local population to raise their knowledge and skills on relevant medical topics. Project is focusing on support from this position mostly on development of digital Health Promotion content and publishing through social media.
Accountabilities:
Inform patients and communities about MSF and services it provides.
According to medical priorities, deliver information to the patients and community on specific health topics
Implement activities of health education and awareness (sessions in schools, churches, community), under the indications and supervision of the HP Supervisor.
Under the guide of HP Supervisor, assess the impact of activities (with questions, verifications and behaviors ob-servations), and report problems, success and constraints to him/her.
Collect all type of information related to specific health and living conditions of the population, in particular to identify the most vulnerable populations to target.
Report to HP Supervisor: activities, problems met, strengths and constraints.
Establish and maintain contacts with social partners, including other NGO's, governmental health services that can provide answers to social problems.
Keep education and communication areas clean and tidy and professional materials available.
Participate in creation of any material needed for the activities of information, education and communication.
Project specific accountabilities:
Producing, editing and curating content for publishing on MSF social media accounts , with support provided for trans-lation where needed. Suggesting inovations for content creation and increasing MSF's social media audiences (Facebook ,TikTok ,Live coverage, Q sessions with MSF senior and field staff, etc.)
Creation and dissemination of health-related content.
Development, placement, and performance monitoring of ads
Reposting and implementing in-app display ads and sponsored content with tailored messages
Helping MSF to build its social media audience through
Promoting MSF social media profiles externally
Encouraging staff to use social media guidelines
Providing support for trainings on social media
Monitoring and analyzing online topics and trending subjects which are relevant to MSF operations.
Monitoring for mentions of MSF on social media and report to supervisors on problematic MSF mentions on social media.
Monitoring backend analytics and evaluating engagement of followers by geographic location, demographics, etc… Contributing to the development of MSF social media strategy by providing contextual advice related to social media use and trends in the country.
Undertaking daily work in line with the broader communications and operational goals of MSF and reply to comments and engagements, as appropriate, with guidance from supervisors.
Participating in communication data-collection and reporting as required
Requirements
Education
Desired: Diploma in social science/social communication
Experience
Experience in digital communication and social media is required
Experience working with 'key populations' is required
Experience working with community-based organizations is desirable
Languages
English and Kiswahili (written and spoken)
Knowledge
Computer literacy
Social media knowledge
Awareness of the challenges facing 'key populations' is required
Understanding of Mombasa society, politics, and culture is required
