Our client in the manufacturing sector is seeking to hire an Internal Auditor who will be responsible for evaluating and improving the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management processes, and governance practices. This role involves conducting audits, identifying areas for improvement, and providing recommendations to enhance operational efficiency and mitigate risks.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement the internal audit plan specific to the paint manufacturing process.
Conduct audits of financial processes, inventory controls, procurement, and production workflows.
Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and government regulations.
Review financial statements, ledgers, and cost accounting records for accuracy and completeness.
Assess the financial impact of material, labor, and overhead costs in production processes.
Monitor working capital management, including inventory turnover and accounts receivable.
Evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of manufacturing processes, from raw materials procurement to finished goods production.
Ensure that inventory levels, usage, and variances are properly tracked and reported.
Identify and assess key operational and financial risks within the manufacturing process.
Propose and implement mitigation strategies for identified risks.
Work closely with other departments like production, procurement, and finance to understand their processes and align audit objectives.
Verify procurement processes to ensure proper supplier selection, contract management, and cost-effectiveness.
Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, including industry-specific regulations such as hazardous material handling.
Conduct audits on environmental sustainability, waste management, and chemical safety protocols.
And any other assignment may deem fit form the management.
Qualifications.
Minimum of a bachelors degree (or equivalent) in Accounting, Audit & Finance or related discipline with a professional qualification in e.g. (CA, CPA/ACCA & CIMA) and relevant certification
At least 5 years experience in the audit Internal Audit Function at supervisory level and atleast 3 years of which from an audit firm preferably the big five
Relevant masters degree in finance or accounting is an added advantage
Active member of a relevant professional body
Analytical with auditing & investigation skills
