Vacancy No. CGHR/400/01/24Job SpecificationsReceiving/collecting and recording of study related biological specimens;Isolating, quantifying, and cryopreserving PBMCs.Molecular biology assays: DNA extraction from biological samples and detection of Plasmodium falciparum and EBV using qPCRImmunological assays: ELISA and multiplex bead assay for analyses of Plasmodium falciparum, EBV and other common pathogens.Preparing reagents and managing laboratory supplies inventoryRecording and reporting laboratory results;Keeping an updated inventory of all samples collected and generated in the laboratory.Routine and daily monitoring of laboratory equipment.Ensuring adherence to biosafety and biosecurity guidelines;Taking part in preparation of Standards Operations Procedures (SOPs).Attend to any other duties assigned by the supervisor.Person SpecificationDiploma in any of the following fields: Medical Laboratory Sciences, Applied Sciences, Medical Laboratory Technology, Biotechnology or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;Registration Certificate and Valid practicing license issued by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB) where applicable;Experience in molecular biology and immunological assays are an added advantage;GCP and GCLP trainings;Proficiency in computer application.Key Skills and CompetenciesCommunication skillsInterpersonal skillsTeam playerIntegrity
