OneCGIAR science is dedicated to transforming food, land and water systems in aclimate crisis, and it is carried out by 13 CGIAR Centers/Alliances in closecollaboration with hundreds of partners, including national and regionalresearch institutes, civil society organizations, academia, developmentorganizations and the private sector.About the roleTheselected candidate will be part of the Logistics team under the supervision ofthe Logistics Manager.Key Responsibilities:Provide support to globallogistics operations, following standard processes and ensuring an effective servicedelivery.Build strong workingrelationships with global partners and senior managers to drive alignment offunctional objectives.Support the Logistics unit onDrafting of tender documents, ITT, RFP, solicitation and comparison of bids,organizing and taking minutes during procurement committee meetings andprocessing of purchase orders and contracts.Interact with the logisticteam, to identify best approaches for handling operational transactions tooptimize service levels, maintain supply-chain efficiency, or minimize cost.Support management of logisticssuppliers, enabling them to become virtual extensions of the company to improvevalue delivered to the organization.
Source and evaluate suppliers locally andglobally through market research, networking, and supplier databases to meetquality, cost, and delivery requirements.Design and implementimprovements to standard global processes across the organization to create andspread logistic best practices.Respond to variety of technicalqueries/requests for support, to ensure timely and accurate resolution of allenquiries with a high standard of client service mind-set.Compile data and provide reporton logistics elements ( supply chain management, strategic sourcing ordistribution, supplier management, transportation,) to monitor significanttrends, emerging opportunities and challenges in the areas of responsibility.Complywith applicable health and safety CIP policies and procedures.Oversee bidding processes, ensuring transparent evaluations, bidpreparation, and contract negotiations.Any other duties assigned.
