The Data Management and Intelligence department is paving the way for enabling data-based decisions by focusing on the delivery of scale-able data products to the market, supporting internal decision-making by unlocking the value of data, and creating a solid data foundation on which we can continue to build out our data offering.
The Manager Operational Services, reporting into the Director Data Management & Intelligence will lead the development of data product solutions related to operational delivery. Key deliverables of this team include but are not limited to the annual report, specific customer project support, analytic and visualization activities related to feedback from producers, and internal management reporting. This role will require a deep understanding of RA and stakeholder needs, and the ability to translate these into a set of data solutions, with clear priorities and roadmap for delivery. Responsible for ensuring that the data products released are fit for purpose and deliver optimal value.
The Rainforest Alliance is a data-driven organization. As data becomes further embedded in the core of what we do, you will work closely with all our teams but in particular with the Corporate Engagement and Partnerships, Global Programs, and Technology teams. Internal management reporting will be a significant area of focus within this team, leveraging all available RA data to support data-based decision-making across the organization.
The Manager Operational Services will manage a team of data analysts focusing on data analytics and visualization in support of our internal stakeholders and specific engagements. The mandate of this team is to design the right products with a keen eye on value-creation. This person will be responsible for developing the roadmap in regards to data delivery in Operational Services, determining prioritization of work amongst the team, coaching in order to increase the level of knowledge and expertise, amongst other duties as determined by the Director Data Management & Intelligence. This team is expected to understand the data and reporting needs of their stakeholders and translate those into analytical capabilities which enable decision-making. They will have a comprehensive understanding of our systems and the data available. They will be able to translate these complex datasets into user-friendly (standardized) reporting for internal and external users that delivers actionable insights.
You will be a peer to the Senior Manager Data Products and Senior Manager Data Management, forming the three pillars of Data Management & Intelligence.
Responsibilities:

Develop a strategy to enhance internal customer value proposition design and delivery in the most effective and efficient way, and in alignment with the organizational strategy and objectives;
Create the roadmap for delivery to your stakeholders;
Collaborate with the Sr. Manager Data Products to ensure that standard analytics practices are applied across the department and the Operational Services and Data Products teams are aligned in the most effective way to deliver insights;
Develop a package of internal management reports that will enable internal stakeholders to garner insights, monitor, and drive action against KPIs;
Deliver data analytics and visualizations for specific customer engagements and projects;
Ensure the on time delivery of the annual report; and
Actively look for continuous improvement and innovation opportunities by maintaining excellent knowledge of relevant industry trends and best-practice, through external connections and leveraging internal expertise.
Qualifications:
Master's degree, with fluency in mathematics, statistics and/or data analysis strongly preferred;
5 years' experience data reporting and analysis;
1 years' experience in management; or equivalent in coaching, mentoring and training junior staff;
Experience with data visualization tooling such as Power BI (preferred) or Tableau;
Excellent influencing and facilitation skills with a proven ability to convene and reconcile different stakeholder interests and influence towards a common vision/plan;
Knowledge of designing dashboarding concepts to requirements;
In depth knowledge of global commodity supply chains and their sustainability needs and/or experience working with voluntary standards within agriculture/forestry is an advantage;
Strategic mindset but with a hands on mentality;
Be a problem solver, identifying underlying challenges and work proactively and collaboratively to solve them;
Practical experience using Rainforest Alliance supply chain and traceability systems preferred;
E2E experience with data visualization tools like Power BI, tableau, etc;
Excel expert; and
Fluency in English, both verbal and written, with strong communication skills
