Reporting to the General Manager, Operations, the job holder will be responsible for establishing and maintaining an effective safety culture across the Company.

Duties and Responsibilities
Developing and ensuring implementation of safety and quality strategy, policy and plans
Overseeing implementation of technical assurance audits to ensure quality & efficiency of new projects, plant rehabilitation, involving major repair and overhaul projects.
Coordinating energy audits, energy conservation initiatives, and providing advice on energy management.
Preparing energy conservation reports for submission to Energy & Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA).
Providing leadership in incident/accident investigation and reporting
Coordinating process review, auditing, mapping, and improvement to business processes
Managing the Company's quality management systems.
Establishing the Safety and Health Management system to promote safe and healthy workplaces.
Preparing the divisional procurement plan and budget; and ensuring prudent fund management.
Monitoring and evaluating employee performance.
Ensuring compliance with QMS and Safety regulatory requirements.
Ensure compliance with risk management systems.
Formulate and implement policies and strategies on work environment
Implement legal provisions of safety, health and work environment
Educational Requirements Job Experience/Qualifications
For appointment to this grade an officer must have: -
A minimum period of twelve (12) years in a relevant field, four (4) of which should be in a management role
Master's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science or any other equivalent qualifications
Bachelors degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science or related equivalent field from a recognized institution
Leadership Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks in a recognized institution
Lead Auditors certification for quality, environment and safety
Membership to a relevant professional body
Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
