Mechanical Engineer In Building Construction (M/F/D) At Strabag International

The STRABAG Group's international activities executed by its subsidiaries STRABAG International GmbH and ZBLIN International GmbH comprise Transportation Infrastructures (roads, railways, airports and test tracks for the automobile industry), Building Construction (turnkey construction, industrial facilities) and Civil Engineering (bridges, dams, hydraulic asphalt engineering, tunnelling, pipe jacking and microtunnelling, cooling towers and harbour facilities).TasksTechnical Coordination of all Technical Services internally and with Civil worksTechnical assessment of tender documentsCommercial/financial evaluation of project tender documents for estimationObtaining and techno-commercial assessment/evaluation of quotations from sub-contractors and suppliersPreparation of sub-contract documents for any technical building serviceDefinition of interfaces between all technical services and civil worksElaboration of time schedules for all technical services and coordination with civil worksTechnical coordination and supervision of sub-contractors during constructionProgress and cost control of sub-contractors during constructionQuality control of execution works on siteSound knowledge of FIDIC – contractsTechnical/contractual correspondence with Client/Consultant and Sub-contractorsSupport in Business Development and to establish STRABAG's worldwide expertise in Kenya.RequirementsQualifications:Diploma from Technical University/CollegeMin. 8 Years Experience on Project Sites as Site Technician / Site Manager3 to 5 Years Experience as Quantity Surveyor or Cost Estimator for Cost Calculation of Mechanical SystemsKnowledge And SkillsEstablished network of reliable subcontractors in Nairobi areaFamiliar with local codes and regulations, including local Health and Safety guidelines.Computer Skills: Microsoft Office, Auto CAD, Primavera, Acrobat ReaderProficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPointStrong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks within a fast-paced worksite environment.Fluent in English and Kiswahili (Spoken, Written)Knowledge of German as additional skill always appreciated in a German company, but no conditionEffective analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to read schedules and scheduling cures/reports.Entrepreneurship attitude to be essential part of a Business DevelopmentWillingness for continuous learning, advancement of technical knowledge and transfer of expertise from STRABAG worldwide to STRABAG KenyaWillingness to support in other fields during establishment of Business
