Job Description We are seeking a skilled and innovative Mechatronic Engineer to join our construction and engineering team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of automated systems, robotics, and control systems in construction projects.
The role involves working closely with project teams to integrate mechanical, electrical, and computer systems to enhance operational efficiency and streamline processes.
Key Responsibilities Design & Development : Design and develop mechatronic systems, including robotics, automation, and control systems for construction machinery and equipment.
System Integration : Integrate mechanical, electrical, and electronic components into construction systems for optimal performance.
Automation Solutions : Implement automation solutions to improve the efficiency of construction operations, such as automated machinery, sensors, and control systems.
Project Management : Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other engineers to ensure that mechatronic solutions align with project goals, timelines, and budgets.
Prototyping & Testing : Develop prototypes and conduct testing to ensure that systems meet safety, performance, and regulatory standards.
Troubleshooting & Maintenance : Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to mechatronic systems in construction equipment, ensuring minimal downtime.
Documentation & Reporting : Prepare technical reports, project documentation, and user manuals for the mechatronic systems.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement : Stay updated on the latest technological advancements in mechatronics and recommend improvements to current systems and processes.
Health & Safety Compliance : Ensure that all mechatronic systems comply with safety regulations and standards in the construction industry.
Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Mechatronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in mechatronic engineering, preferably in the construction or engineering sectors.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and simulation tools for designing mechatronic systems.
Strong knowledge of automation systems, robotics, and control systems.
Experience with PLC programming, sensor technology, and embedded systems is highly desirable.
Understanding of construction machinery and equipment functionality and the ability to apply mechatronic solutions in this context.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex systems.
Strong communication skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Project management experience is an added advantage.
