Roles & Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management:
Supervise, mentor, coach, and evaluate the performance of nursing staff.
Ensure appropriate staffing levels and effective scheduling to provide optimal patient care
Identify, and develop competence development and training plans for staff.
Conduct, regular team meetings and provide ongoing education and professional development opportunities.
Develop and implement policies and procedures in alignment with best practices and organizational goals.
Patient Care:
Ensure high-quality, patient-centered care is delivered consistently.
Address patient complaints and concerns promptly and effectively.
Oversee patient admissions, discharges, and transfers to ensure smooth and efficient processes.
Operational Management:
Manage the day-to-day operations of the nursing unit or department.
Monitor and manage departmental budgets, including staffing, supplies, and equipment.
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
Quality Improvement:
Implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
Collect and analyze data to identify areas for improvement.
Collaboration
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and departments to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
Serve as a liaison between nursing staff and other hospital departments.
Participate in hospital committees and task forces as needed.
Take up hospital administrative shifts and coverage.

Qualifications, Regulatory & Legal Requirements
Must be a qualified Registered Nurse (KRN/RM/KRCHN/KRNM/KRNMPH/BSCN).
Must have a higher diploma in a nursing field or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing or a relevant basic degree from a recognized institution
Certification courses on management or leadership is an added advantage.
Must have a valid licensure from the Nursing Council of Kenya.
Minimum twelve (12) years of nursing experience with three years in a leadership or managerial role.
Must have a Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Previous leadership or management experience in a healthcare setting.
