This role reports to the Sales Director and is based in Nairobi. This is a great opportunity for an established FMCG established sales professional who is passionate about driving exceptional business results; maintaining and strengthening commercial relationships and who cherishes monitoring and motivating teams to do their very best.
The role-holder will lead the Kenya sales agenda by strengthening commercial relationships within general trade, modern trade and HORECA.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and direct implementation of business strategies and plans to achieve the agreed revenue objectives, profitability and volume goals for the country, consistent with overall sales strategy.
Lead and focus the country sales team and third-party agency teams towards instilling high performance culture.
Motivating and daily monitoring of the company and third party sales teams using SFA system to ensure they are focused on delivering the set business objectives.
Take leadership in ensuring timely, accurate and commercially viable sales decisions are made in consultation with all stakeholders.
Drive high levels of stakeholder's engagement within the general trade, modern trade and HORECA channels.
Identifying and escalating to the management the opportunities and challenges the various shareholders are facing and lobbying for support.
Develop and implement annual calendar of trade interventions and ensure that Returns on Investment are realized.
In liaison with key stakeholders develop revenue forecasts and ensure they are realized.
Plan and ensure that the senior management teams meet on regular basis with the key customers and participate in various initiatives and partnerships
Lead the development and implementation of the Joint Business Plans.
Proactively identify new business opportunities and lead their onboarding to ensure they know the company's expectations and that they are well supported.
Develop the competence and commitment of sales teams through effective training, guidance and support.
Keep abreast of the market, trade and competitor activities and implement appropriate strategies.
The Person
Minimum of a bachelor's degree in a business-related field.
10 years' managerial experience within sales function in FMCG with proven track record of high performance.
Tangible experience in General and Modern trade is a key requirement for the role.
Strong ability to manage country sales teams.
