The Network Solutions Engineer will be responsible for designing and quoting and sometimes implementing network solutions that fulfill client requirements while ensuring security, scalability, and high performance. This role includes both pre-sales and post-sales activities, with a particular focus on generating accurate quotes and network project man-hour estimations. The Network Solutions Engineer will also assist in implementing basic networking projects and providing second-level support as needed.
Responsibilities:
Network Design and Deployment
Design and build scopes for network solutions, including LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, VPN, and wireless solutions.
Ensure network solutions are secure, scalable, and meet the client's performance requirements.
Document network architecture, configurations, and best practices.
Desire and ability to learn and pick up new technologies quickly.
Quoting and Cost Estimation
Work with the sales, engineering, and project management teams to develop quotes for network projects.
Use their knowledge of network engineering to generate itemized estimates and update them as client requirements evolve.
Review and refine quotes based on client feedback and project changes.
Client Interaction and Consultation
Engage with clients to understand technical needs and provide network solution recommendations.
Participate in pre-sales calls and meetings, delivering technical expertise and project feasibility assessments.
Develop and present client-facing proposals detailing network architectures and solution benefits.
Support and Troubleshooting
Engage senior escalation support for network-related issues when required to design and troubleshoot complex network situations.
Conduct root cause analysis and collaborate with other teams to implement solutions for recurring issues.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Networking, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
3-5+ years of experience in network engineering, including routing, switching, and firewall configuration.
Strong understanding of quoting processes, with experience using quoting and CRM tools.
Industry certifications are not required but would be a considerable asset.
Proficiency in network troubleshooting and diagraming tools.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client presentations, creating project scopes for SOW's/quotes, and technical
