Requirements for appointment
Be a Kenyan citizen;
Must have a Bachelor's Degree in any of the following disciplines: Foods, Nutrition and Dietetics, Dietetics/Clinical Nutrition or Food Science and Nutrition from a recognized institution
Be registered by the Council of the Kenya Nutritionists and Dieticians Institute (KNDI)
Possess a valid Practicing License from the Kenya Nutritionists and Dieticians Institute (KNDI)
Certificate in Computer Application Skills from a recognized institution.
Relevant working experience will be an added advantage.
Duties and responsibilities
The Nutrition and Dietetics Officer shall be responsible to the employer and the supervisor for the following;
Preparing and implementing therapeutic diets for Patients.
Providing guidelines on therapeutic diets for management of existing and emerging diseases in health facilities, for home – based care and in other institutions.
Treating patients using specialized dietetic nutritionally modified products Implementing the nutrition and dietetic intervention process from screening to evaluation
Planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating nutrition specific projects in the community.
Counselling patients on specialized dietetic interventions and evaluating outcomes.
Developing and disseminating nutrition behavior change education and information materials.
Implementing nutrition health programmes.
Collecting and compiling nutrition and dietetic data.
Any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Integrity Clearance
Successful applicants are expected to get clearance from the following bodies.
Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI)
For those with higher education certificates (degrees) from outside Kenya, a letter of recognition of qualifications from the Commission of University Education.
