Officer, Program Implementation

The Officer, Program Implementation will work on the full life-cycle of the project, from the start-up phase to the full close-out.
This involves designing work plans, implementing activities, reporting, and supporting procurement.
The Officer, Program Implementation will collaborate with other departments, including Finance, Institutional Learning, Programs, the Regional Team, as well as with project partners.
Responsibilities:Coordinates program implementation activities and documents lessons learned.
Follows up on activities for completion of a plan or seeks collaborative input from colleagues internal and external to the Program Implementation team.ContributionsWorkplan: articulation of detailed costed work plan and activity plan that track outputsReporting: lead and coordinate the development of reports (presentations, agenda, donor reports, monthly reports, activity reports etc); upload and update the Grants Management System (GMS)Compliance: draft memos relevant to rules and regulations; support project staff in understanding regulations.Financial management: monitor project budget-lines and Budget versus Actuals (BvA).Subaward management: finalize Terms of Reference (ToR) and other partner materials (, contract, Statement of Work (SoW), etc.
); drive partner capacity assessment and partner capacity plan; coordinate with partner staff in project implementation; review and provide support to partner work plan, budget, and contract; manage the compliance of subawardPersonnel Management: supervise Interns and Assistants as assigned, support in building staff capacity as needed, provide support in the recruitment of staff as needed, provide the Search Program Implementation description for recruitment posting, and contribute to the development of interview materials External Engagement: Coordinate with partner staff in project implementation and activities, ensure effective communication with project stakeholders, draft materials for stakeholders (donor/partner/governmental meetings - , agenda, presentations, etc.
)Note and record challenges and lessons learned from project implementation via activity and monthly reportsIdentify partner organizations and communities for future interventionsSupport in the development of budget and budget simulationsSupport in the identification and decision of opportunities (go/no-go)Infuses organizational Values into all workCompetency Behavior Indicators (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)Initiates brainstorming or problem-solving meetings.

Proactively informs management of potential risks and concerns; suggests resolutions.Type and Nature of ContactsRoutinely coordinates with colleagues and consultants on-site and in the field and resolves problem situations with tact.Represents, as assigned, selected programs or projects and other organizations, including donors, vendors, and international and local partners.Interacts with the country office and regional staff.Education and ExperienceBachelor's Degree in Political Science, Development Studies, Peace and Conflict Studies, International Relations, Conflict Studies, Social Sciences, Communications or related area with 6 years of relevant work experience in the digital, peacebuilding or NGO sector; OR Master's Degree with 4 years of relevant experience) in the digital, peacebuilding, or NGO sector.Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communications skills in English.
Prior work experience of policy influencing on Safe and Accessible internet, TFGBV, Climate/ Peace/Security Nexus conflict sensitivity, peacebuilding or the digital Peace Building sector.Working Conditions and Physical RequirementsUsual office environment conditions; ability to travel internationally at least 20%.Supervisory and Budget ResponsibilityMay supervise one or more staff members.The deadline to apply is January 20, 2025.Female applicants, PWDs and Residents of the BONI Counties (Lamu, Garissa and Tana River) are encouraged to apply
