If crafting and maintaining critical piping systems aligns with your skills, we want you on our team. As a Pipe Fitter, you will be instrumental in assembling, installing, and ensuring the integrity of piping systems for the 35MW Menengai Geothermal Power Project. Your role will involve interpreting blueprints, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and contributing to a project that builds lasting infrastructure.
Key responsibilities
Operational Management
Provide leadership and direction to crew members, including welders, grinders, and helpers.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and isometric drawings to plan pipe layout and installation.
Measure, cut, thread, groove, and bend pipes to required angles using hand and power tools.
Assemble, install, and secure pipes, fittings, and related components according to specifications.
Select appropriate materials and tools for each task.
Prepare piping materials by cleaning, cutting, and beveling edges as required.
Conduct quality checks to ensure pipes and fittings are defect-free.
Work closely with other trades and contractors to coordinate activities.
Conduct pressure tests to identify leaks and ensure systems meet safety standards.
Inspect piping systems for alignment, durability, and performance.
Report progress and issues to supervisors promptly.
Enforce compliance with safety standards and regulations on-site.
Participate in risk assessments and develop mitigation plans for piping activities.
Conduct toolbox meetings.
Planning
Ensure all required pipes, fittings, consumables, tools, and PPE are available on-site.
People and Relationship Management
Clear and consistent communication among all team members, including workers, contractors, and project managers.
Build a culture of mutual respect and collaboration to foster trust and improve morale.
Address disputes or disagreements proactively using fair and transparent methods.
Reporting & Analysis
Report progress and issues to supervisors promptly.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Education/Qualification: High school diploma, ITI Technical certificate, or equivalent; technical or vocational training in the piping fitter category.
Work experience: Minimum 3 years of experience as a piping fitter in power projects.
IT skills: Not applicable.
Language: Fluent in written and spoken English.
