Core Functions / Responsibilities:
Private Sector Partnerships:
Actively identify and lead opportunities to develop partnerships with the private sector in coordination with relevant Missions.
Map and build existing partnerships at the national level across the region.
Lead the initiation, outreach, scale up and expansion of existing and new partnerships with
Major Donors, corporates and foundations in the East, Horn and Southern Africa.
In coordination with the Department of Financial Management and PSP team, ensure internal financial and legal frameworks at IOM are conducive and responsive to private sector income collection and allocation of flexible funding.
Contribute to the establishment of an external private sector advisory group.
Actively identify and lead opportunities to develop impactful and innovative partnerships with the private sector across the region.
Coordinate with Missions, private sector focal points and thematic specialists to develop partnerships with the private sector.

Regular Pathways:
Review and validate all the documents and publications related to regular pathways.
Support the design and implementation regular pathways strategies to engage the private sector in the Country Offices.
Support the implementation at the national level of the partnership within Country Offices in the
East, Horn and Southern Africa missions, while being responsible for escalating the existing partnerships with the private sector across the region.

Capacity Building:
Coach and build the capacities of IOM staff and PSP Peer Support Group by providing advice, guidance and training to ensure consistent, outreach activities that deliver the desired impact in the regions.
In coordination with the PSP team, plan and support global capacity-building initiatives through online and in-person trainings and workshops.
Contribute to the setup of communities of practice and tools for collaboration and knowledge management for private sector partnerships across IOM, with a special focus in the East and Horn of Africa Region.
Identify and propose opportunities for knowledge exchanges in the areas and geographies assigned – for IOM Staff to learn about best practices and success stories on private sector engagement from IOM staff in other regions.
Provide advice and input to Country Offices in the East, Horn and Southern Africa Region todevelop proposals that are relevant and appropriate for the private sector to provide support to institutional priorities in Africa, specifically Regular Pathways, and solutions for displacement.
Support the Country Offices in designing and implementing national strategies for private sector engagement.

Coordination and M&E:
Monitoring and reporting upon progress against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for pipeline under direct responsibility as outlined in the Private Sector Strategy.
Work with PSP Team as appropriate, to compile and draft narrative and financial reports to private sector donors as it relates to activities led by the Unit.
Contribute to the development of reporting mechanisms to enable timely impact reporting to Member States, private sector partners and the public to enhance accountability.
Perform other duties as required.

Required Qualifications and Experience:
Education
Master's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Social Sciences, International Relations, Management, Development Studies, or a related field from an accredited academic institution with five years of relevant professional experience; or,
University degree in the above fields with seven years of relevant professional experience.

Experience
Excellent understanding and experience with fundraising and building partnerships with the private sector in Africa;
Proven and successful multi-year track record in private sector partnerships and fundraising with strong ability to meet fundraising targets;
Experience in handling Corporate Social Responsibility programs, ESG Frameworks, and corporate recognition programs;
Significant experience in exploring new private sector opportunities and providing inputs to design and develop solutions with prospective partners;
Experience building long-term partner relationships and understands the value of expanding relationships across geographies and is comfortable engaging with multiple sectors;
Experience in working cross-functionally and obtaining relevant content and information from different units to build innovative partnerships with private sector; and,
At least five years of experience in private sector partnership building with proven success in mobilizing financial resources from corporations and philanthropic foundations.
