The Procurement Officer will be responsible for managing the procurement process to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services necessary for construction projects. The ideal candidate should have 2-3 years of experience and hold a diploma or degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Prior experience working in a construction company is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet project needs and deadlines.
Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers and vendors to secure the best pricing and quality.
Prepare purchase orders and ensure compliance with company policies and procurement regulations.
Maintain and update records of purchases, suppliers, and pricing.
Monitor and manage supplier performance to ensure quality standards are met and maintained.
Work closely with project managers and site teams to forecast procurement needs and manage inventory levels.
Oversee the timely delivery of materials to construction sites, resolving any supply chain issues that may arise.
Conduct market research to stay updated on price trends and new products relevant to the construction industry.
Manage relationships with key suppliers to build long-term partnerships.
Ensure that all procurement activities are documented accurately for auditing and compliance purposes.
Collaborate with the finance team to align procurement activities with the budget and project costs.
Implement and monitor effective procurement processes and procedures.
Address and resolve any issues related to procurement, including delivery delays or non-compliance.
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
Diploma or Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
2-3 years of proven work experience as a Procurement Officer in the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and supplier networks.
Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
