Project Assistant

Details of the offer

Purpose of the Position
The Project Assistant supports the program team in effectively following search and donor policies and procedures regarding project implementation. This involves monitoring, reporting, and where appropriate, engagement with donors. It involves oversight of both program quality and compliance, collaborating closely with other departments, including Finance, the Institutional Learning Team, Strategy Alignment, Program Quality, Communications, and Human Resources.

Responsibilities
1. Provides direct support in grants start-up and close-out life cycles.
2. Provides support in monitoring and ensuring compliance with donor rules and regulations.
3. Provides support in monitoring program implementation guided by program work plans.

Specific duties:
1. Create and maintain a hard and soft filing system for specific programs.
2. Develop and maintain contact lists pertaining to specific programs.
3. Coordinate with field teams to manage day-to-day operations
4. Conduct regular field visits to assess implementation and collect data
5. Liaise with local authorities, community leaders, partner organizations, and beneficiaries
6. Organize meetings and events.
7. Maintain records of meetings and events.
8. Draft information material related to specific programs.
9. Translate and interpret when necessary.
10. Conduct primary and secondary research.
11. Transcription of the meetings events and research being held for the project.
12. Take part in core Search Afghanistan activities as needed.
13. Carry out any tasks that the line managers assign.

Safeguarding: Remain alert and responsive to any child safeguarding risks, acquire relevant knowledge and skills that will enable you to promote strong safeguarding practices, understand the child safeguarding policy and procedures, and conduct yourself in a manner consistent with the Child Safeguarding Policy.
Skills & Competencies

Education
A degree from a recognized university preferably in project management, business administration, social sciences, or a related field.

Experience
Three years of experience in a professional setting.
Experience of work with international/national NGO preferred.

Skills and Competencies
Interest in the peacebuilding, humanitarian, and development fields.
Able to work under pressure and keen to learn from others.
Excellent written and oral Dari and Pashto communication skills.
Able to communicate in English (in written and orally) at a high level.
Excellent computer skills including Ms. Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and windows.
Excellent time management skills.

$400 - $400 a month
